In partnership with Summit County Mental Wellness Alliance and Communities that Care, Holy Cross Ministries offers Guiding Good Choices workshops, an evidence-based program for parents of kids ages 9 to 14 that strengthens family relationships and is proven to help prevent substance abuse and depression in children.
Each five-week series of two-hour workshops empower families to face the challenges of adolescence by covering
- Risks of substance abuse
- Conflict resolution
- Healthy boundary setting
- Resistance to peer pressure
- Effective communication
The next series of Guiding Good Choices classes will be offered in the spring of 2020. For more information or how to enroll, contact PAT Program Coordinator Lizeette Zurita (385-257-2445) or School Readiness Program Coordinator Miriam Garcia (385-257-2414).
